HONOLULU, Hawaii – Daniel Alberdeston lived
in various parts of the world prior to settling
down in Honolulu. Until the end of June, he
worked in the Governor’s Office of Boards and
Commissions.
Alberdeston was born in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico,
while his father was stationed there in the Army.
Both his parents were born in Santurce, Puerto
Rico. Two years after he was born, his family
moved to Alabama. A few years later, they
returned to Puerto Rico. Before his parents
divorced, he spent about seven years of his
childhood, including his high school years, in
Puerto Rico.
The rest of the time he spent on military bases
in Germany, Alabama, Kentucky, etc.
    HONOLULU, Hawaii – Say “Tori
Richard” in Honolulu and many people
will think of the company that has been
designing and manufacturing quality
resort wear since 1956. But say “Eida
Carrillo” in our local Hispanic
community and many people will say
“Tori Richard” because Carrillo is their
Director of Design and Merchandising
for the Men's Division.
Our rings are inter-related
We were raised in America by lucky chance...
We live in Hawaii by geographical choice...
But, we are Hispanic  --- by the grace of God!
HONOLULU, Hawaii – Our staff first met former
(1990 – 2000) state representative Alex
Santiago during the 1994 legislative session,
when we were lobbying the Legislature to pass
the Hawaii Hispanic Bicentennial bill. Former
state senator Anthony Chang helped steward
the bill through the Senate, but we needed
someone to help on the House side.
A friend introduced us to former House Vice
Speaker Jackie Young, now the Director of the
American Cancer Society Hawaii Pacific. Young
told us: “Alex Santiago is half-Korean/half-
Puerto Rican.
